I work with nerds. We all play video games, (except the boss boss, but he just gets really into politics), a few of us are trying to program games, and one or two of us play with "magic cards." Crazy I know.
It's interesting, but a time and money sink. My brother and I plus a few of our cousins were into it back in junior high/ early high school. But we were never into it seriously, and we kindof all stopped buying cards about the same time.
The problem with the cards is, they come out with newer and newer cards. Generally the newer cards give more for less in the game, making it so that if you want to stay competitive, you have to keep buying.
So we got out, but James invited me to come play with him and his friends last night. It was fun, it got me out of the house and away from the computer, but it also got me back interested in it.
Plus I feel bad, I kept James up late, and he had to work in the morning. I don't have to work until this afternoon/evening. But, it was a good time.
